Local Holiday Happenings!
Several upcoming holiday related events/things to do are happening in and around Cortland that you might not already know about - we thought we would mention..
* “Help bring joy to local nursing homes in Cortland County by sending a holiday card!” “Drop off locations include Kinney Drugs on Route 281, Walgreens on Route 281, Cortland YWCA, Price Chopper, Homer Village Food Market, and at Key Bank in Homer. Write a message, sign your name, or whatever you're comfortable with and the cards will be delivered to local nursing homes. Collection of the drop boxes will be until Dec. 24th.”
* Holiday Stroll at the Center for the Arts of Homer, 72 S. Main St. Homer. It has started this week and is continuing through the upcoming weekend!
Dec 18th and 19th from 6:30 - 9 pm. Reservations are required- Call (607) 749-4900.
$2.00 for children 12 and under | $3.00 for adults.
* Christmas Tea at the 1890’s House, 27 S. Tompkins St, Cortland.
On Saturday December 19th and Sunday December 20th, The 1890’s House will host a new Christmas Tea. Tickets will be $28 for adults, $16 for children under 10 and no charge for children 5 and under. Seating's will be at 11 am and 1:30 pm - both Saturday and Sunday
* 2 Rivers Christmas, 76 Homer Ave Cortland.
“ Bring the whole family for a fun, safe day with Santa, free candy, and the warm, friendly environment of Two Rivers. This event is 100% free and open to the public. Free Candy, Free Hot Cocoa, Free Family Photos, Free Cookie Decoration Station, Free Hay Rides, and a dynamic Christmas Experience that the whole family will enjoy.”

* Phillips Free Library & Homer Rec Department will host “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” a Christmas Eve reading.
Mayor Hal McCabe will read this story online at 6:30 pm on December 23rd. Register by emailing office@phillipsfreelibrary.org before Tuesday Dec 22nd at 5:30pm. The first 25 people to register will receive a free copy of the story!
* Take part in the Cortland Community Center’s Virtual Lighting Contest. Entries are accepted until Dec 30th. Take a picture of your “space, wall, hall or home” and email it to CommunityNick@yahoo.com. Virtual entries will be displayed on the Cortland Community Center’s Facebook page.
