Suggett house museum & Kellogg Memorial Research Center

Location: 25 Homer Ave., Cortland

Find out how Cortland families lived over 100 years ago and gain a new appreciation for the past and present way of life.

Hours for The Kellogg Memorial Research Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm.

The Suggett House Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm.  No admission charge, donations accepted.


CNY Living history center

Location: 4386 US-11, Cortland

The CNY Living History Center consists of three museums. The Homeville museum focuses on military and local history. The two other museums feature Brockway trucks, tractors, and agricultural history. An afternoon here is a great way for kids to see Cortland’s past come to life.

Open Tuesday - Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm.  Last admission at 4 pm to ensure visitors have enough time to tour the exhibits.

Closed Sunday - Monday and the 4th of July. Adults $10, Seniors $9, Children (6 to 18) $5, Children (5 & under) Free, Active Military (with ID) Free.


1890 house

Location: 37 Tompkins St., Cortland

Experience the splendor of the late 19th century as you learn about Chester Wickwire, an inventor and businessman. The house is designed after James Baileys house, renowned circus ringmaster, and has secret passageways to explore.

The 1890 House is open Thursday – Saturday, 11:00am – 4:00pm and Sunday, 12:00pm – 4:00pm.

Guided tours are the best way to explore the 1890 House.  Guided tours are subject to availability. Visitors are advised to book in advance to guarantee a guided tour spot.  Walk-ins also welcome.

Adults – $15; Seniors – $12; Military – $10; Students – $10; Children 6-18 – $5; Children 5 & younger – free when accompanied by an adult


Sciencenter

Location: 601 1st St., Ithaca

Interactive science exhibits engage, empower, and educate children of all ages. There’s even an outdoor science playground and mini-golf course.

Paleontological research institution and museum of the earth

Location: 1259 Trumansburg Rd., Ithaca

Learn about what paleontologists do and check out the dinosaurs they’ve uncovered. You can even take home fossils from the Lab.

Open Thurs.-Mon, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Roberson museum and science center

Location: 30 Front St., Binghamton

The museum offers many different exhibits, summer for kids, and a planetarium.

Kopernik Observatory & Science Center

Location: 698 Underwood Rd., Vestal

Explore space, the planets, telescopes, and astronomy with a day visit or sign children up for summer camp. Kopernik Observatory is open to the public every Friday Evening regardless of sky conditions.

March – May, doors open at 7:30 PM, and public program at 8:00 PM;

June – July, doors open at 8:00 PM, and public program at 8:30 PM;

August – November doors open at 7:30 PM, and public program at 8:00 PM.

MOSt (Milton J. Rubenstein museum of science & technology)

The MOST is a hands-on learning experience for kids of all ages.
