Routines and Transitions: The Mental Health Connection with Boundaries for Children

  • Homer High School Auditorium 80 South West Road, Homer, NY (map)

The Homer Family and Community Liaisons would like to invite you to join us for a presentation by Karen Dudgeon on Routines and Transitions: The Mental Health Connection with Boundaries for Children, sponsored by Seven Valleys Health Coalition.

Karen's presentation will build on the previous workshops she has provided in the district, this time focusing on the connection between mental health and boundaries including the unique needs of adolescents to have routines established, even during school breaks. Karen will talk about the school expectations vs. home expectations, how to prepare for the transition to summer and back to school in the fall after a long summer break, and how summer routines can influence attendance struggles during the school year.

This is open to anyone in the greater community and is NOT limited to Homer families. Please join us on Thursday, June 13th at the Homer High School Auditorium. Light Dinner will take place in the High School cafeteria from 5:00-5:30 P.M. followed by the presentation from 5:30-7:00 P.M. in the auditorium . A light meal, childcare and supplementary book will be offered to anyone who pre registers by Monday June 10th. Walk-ins welcome for the presentation only. See flyer here.
