The Cortland County Legislature and Experience Cortland: Cortland County Convention & Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce that the long standing tradition of July 3rd fireworks in Cortland County will take place this year, July 3, 2020, albeit in a new location.
The fireworks show will be moved to an alternate location to the east of the City of Cortland, but will still take place on Friday, July 3rd. This move will provide an excellent opportunity to view the show from nearly every vantage point in the City of Cortland.
The fireworks show will commence after dark, at approximately 10:15pm, on the 3rd. In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 5th. Dwyer Memorial Park, while unable to host this year’s fireworks, will remain open on July 3rd for patrons to use while maintaining current social distancing practices including limiting gatherings to 25 people or less.
