Fun Friday - Matching Game

As we head into the weekend, what better time to craft up some fun activities with the kiddos? Revisit some of other classic games featured on our parenting blog, like “What’s in the Box?” and “Rhyme Challenge,” or jump into this week’s do-it-yourself matching puzzle game.

Materials needed: paper, easy-to-trace objects from around the house, markers/crayons

  1. Go around the house to collect items for the game. Think of objects that are safe and easy to trace, like a wooden kitchen spoon, a mug, some of your child’s toys, etc.

  2. Grab your piece of paper and begin to trace the objects using a marker or a crayon. Add as many tracings as you can onto the paper to increase the level of fun.

  3. Place all the objects in a bowl or basket and tell your child to try and place them over their tracings on the paper. If they need help, you can give them some hints.

  4. Once your child has completed the puzzle, place all the items back in the basket and find some new objects to trace for a whole new puzzle adventure!
